HCA Is Calling All Student Artists

The Hinsdale Center is accepting pieces for its 24th annual art exhibit.

The Hinsdale Center for the Arts will hold its 24th annual high school art exhibition, beginning Saturday, April 9.

Teachers from DuPage and western Cook County schools submit student artwork in all artistic media to the exhibition. All submitted work is exhibited, and the work is evaluated by art professionals  who present up to 12 awards of excellence.

On April 16, a special program by Chicago's School of the Art Institute will be presented at 4 p.m., followed by a reception for students, teachers, parents and guests.

During the special program, students will be able to view the portfolios of students from all over the country who are currently enrolled as freshmen at SAIC. The program will showcase student work that has won scholarships. This will provide an opportunity for college-bound students interested in pursuing a creative career, to learn about specific admissions criteria for art colleges.

The exhibition and reception are free and open to the public. After the exhibtion, the award-winning pieces of art will be on display at Harris Bank in Hinsdale.
