Darien/Woodridge—Police Charge Willowbrook Man With Murder of Hinsdale South Grad—Police say Juan M. Cuellar shot and killed 18-year-old Joshua Holmes Monday near Willowbrook.

Oak Park/River Forest/Forest Park—Man Arrested After Holding Victim and Three Children at Gunpoint During Home InvasionRichard D. Woods, 25, has been charged with home invasion after police said he held a River Forest family at gunpoint during a burglary.

Wheaton—Puppy Dies of Coyote Attack in Wheaton—A 15-month-old terrier died after a coyote attack in its backyard Thursday. The pack of coyotes also attacked a 12-year-old terrier, which survived with severe injuries.

Geneva——The cats and dog were found in a van Wednesday in northern Kane County. A 60-year-old man is headed to court in connection to this case.

Glen Ellyn—District 87 confirmed Thursday that 20 student athletes were among those at an underage party held at a student's home.

Elmhurst—'Wicked' Mother Gets 20 Years in Prison For Drugging Son—Judge calls Cheryl Luchetta's actions "inconceivable."

Lisle——Aurora Venegas, 63, and Thomas Masen, 67, both of Naperville, were sentenced to time in federal prison Tuesday in connection with public contract fraud involving projects at O'Hare International Airport and in Orland Park.

St. Charles—St. Charles Mom Headed to Prison for Failing to Stop Toddler’s Beating—Cathleen A. Koch refused to protect her toddler from a boyfriend who severely beat her in 2010. He already is serving a 15-year term.
