Patch Roundup: Baseball-Bat Assault, Teacher Mediation Fails

Also this week: plea in Lisle sexual-assault charges, charges in a bank robbery and police chase and David Axelrod visits St. Charles.

If you drove around this week, you may have noticed that Little League season has begun. We would like to take this opportunity to remind you that baseball bats are for use in the sport of baseball, and not as potentially deadly weapons. A fellow in Glen Ellyn appears to have forgotten this simple lesson, and is thus now facing battery charges.

Meanwhile, the ongoing saga of unhappy Burr Ridge teachers has taken another turn in a poor direction after a mediation session went south in a hurry. The ongoing strike, begun in mid-March shows no signs of abating anytime soon.
