The Hinsdale Library asks that you pardon their dust while they go undergo renovations month.
The library at 20 E. Maple St. is adding two meeting rooms, a digital media lab, special travel section, more flexible teen space and more shelving for audiovisual materials and new books, Trib Local reported.
The renovation is costing $248,000 and is expected to be completed to at the end of April.
The library conducted a survey and held focus groups to determine what changes patrons wanted. More space for teens came out of the community’s feedback.
Teens can expect new furnishings and tables to hang out. The popular travel section is adding more shelving for books and other travel-related materials.
The main attraction, however, is a digital media lab where patrons can create their own podcasts and movies, or do other digital editing tasks.
The two added meeting rooms will hold four and 12 people.
All of the changes are taking place on the main floor.
If it gets a little noisy in the library during construction, Study rooms and soft seating added to the library’s second last year are available.
