Hinsdale Central High School Student on 'Jeopardy!' Tuesday

Lindsey Thiesfeld, a sophomore from Clarendon Hills, will compete for $75,000.

Lindsey Thiesfeld, a sophomore at Hinsdale Central High School from Clarendon Hills will make her TV debut on Tuesday afternoon at 3:30.

Thiesfeld is among 15 players who were selected to compete in this year's "Jeopardy!" Teen Tournament. 

"I couldn't believe it. There are so many worthy people who try out.  It feels like a dream come true," said Thiesfeld.

Thiesfeld will be competing for the grand prize of $75,000.  The second place winner receives a minimum of $50,000, and the third place winner receives a minimum of $25,000. Semifinalists receive $10,000, and contestants eliminated in the first round receive $5,000.

Thiesfeld said she would like to use the money she earns towards college, travelling and buying a puppy.

The episodes were taped on the Sony Pictures Television lot in Culver City, Calif., Dec. 6-7, and the tournament will air through Tuesday, March 2.
