Former Clarendon Hills resident and 2004 Hinsdale Central graduate Alia Dalal has emerged from about 1,000 applications to be one of 17 finalists to replace Alpana Singh as host of WTTW-Channel 11’s “Check, Please!” , the Doings Clarendon Hills reports.
According to the paper, Alia performed in Hinsdale Central theatre (playing Maria in “West Side Story” as a senior), attended Boston University and The Natural Gourmet Institute in New York, and currently works s a personal chef and food tour guide in Chicago.
“I think I’d be really good at this… It’s walking tours of Chicago neighborhoods, and I love doing it because I love being able to talk to people about food,” Dalal told the paper. “It brings together a lot of the things I’ve been interested in. My objective is to really be myself.”
