Hospital seeks community input on new cancer and outpatient center

Hinsdale – On behalf of Adventist Hinsdale Hospital and Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital, the Hinsdale Hospital Foundation invites community members to share their vision for Adventist Hinsdale Hospital’s cancer and outpatient treatment center. The center, proposed to be built on Ogden Avenue in Hinsdale, is the second phase of the hospital’s modernization project. The first is the construction of a new patient pavilion on the hospital’s main campus.

These 90-minute focus groups will take place in the regional board room on the fifth floor of Adventist Hinsdale Hospital, 120 N. Oak St., Hinsdale at the following times:

• Noon to 1:30 p.m. April 6
• 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. April 14
• 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 18

An additional focus group will be held at Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital, Dixon Auditorium, 5101 S. Willow Springs Road, La Grange, 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. May 9.

Focus group members are invited to provide insight and feedback to help shape the strategy of the cancer and outpatient treatment center, said Susan King, executive director of the Hinsdale Hospital Foundation. Plans for the center include a pharmacy, physician offices, and imaging, radiation and oncology services.

“So many of us have been touched by cancer,” King said. “People have very strong opinions about what a cancer treatment center should look like. Our community already is invested in this project and we want to hear more from them.”

The goal of the foundation’s capital campaign, “Your Family, Your Health, Our Commitment,” is to raise $22 million for the construction project.
