Chicago Magazine Names Hinsdale One of the Best Places to Live in Suburbs

Chicago Magazine has named Hinsdale as one of the best places to live in the Chicago suburbs.

When it comes to towns with the lowest crime rates and the best homes, Hinsdale tops Chicago Magazine's recent list of the best suburban places to live.

The editors at Chicago magazine analyzed statistics from Midwest Real Estate Data, the Illinois State Board of Education, the U.S. Census Bureau, and local police departments to come up with two lists, which showcases the 12 best suburbs and 12 best city neighborhoods, according to a Chicago Magazine article.

Hinsdale was one of two towns selected by Chicago Magazine as a best place to live in DuPage County while Wheaton also made the list.

Hinsdale's home prices have almost returned to 2006 levels and the town boasts an exceptional library, good parks and a culinary scene that "now approaches cosmopolitan status," according to Chicago Magazine.

In choosing Hinsdale, Chicago Magazine wrote: "What’s more, the village’s public schools are renowned—particularly the elementary school Lane and Hinsdale Central High—and the pristine pedestrian-friendly downtown has immense historic charm."

Other suburban towns that made Chicago Magazine's list include: Highland Park, Woodstock, La Grange, Geneva, Frankfort, Barrington, Orland Park, Wilmette, Northbrook and Lake Bluff.
