Rover Rescue Dog of the Week

Are you named after a famous historical figure?   I was named after the Queen of Egypt.  My name is Cleopatra, but you, my friend, can call me CLEO.   Cleopatra was a charming, highly educated female who people fell head over heels in love with… just like me.  I pray that I don’t have Cleopatra’s tragic ending.  She died at the young age of 39.   Now that I am in the safe haven of Rover Rescue, my fears have subsided greatly.  My life has not been without complications, by any means.   I was a homeless dog in Southern Indiana with a litter of precious pups.  My charming personality helped save our lives when we were taken to a high kill shelter.   Rover Rescue has found wonderful, loving homes for my puppies and now it is my turn.  I am a 2 year old Manchester Terrier/Chihuahua Mix with a sleek black coat.  I have a white chest and white tips on my tail and all four paws.  It is my ears that helped me get the name CLEO.  I have very large ears that reminded my foster family of the dogs in Ancient Egypt.  I am a petite girl, weighing only 18 pounds.  I am fantastic with people of all ages. My friendly, easy disposition would make me a great fit for a first time dog owner.  An experienced dog family will love how sweet I am.  If you are wanting a partner to snuggle in your lap, look no further!  I am the ultimate lapdog!  I enjoy the company of other dogs as much as humans, but I have not been exposed to those cat creatures.  I love to go for car rides and I have absolutely no guarding behaviors at all.   I am crate trained and housetrained.  I am not a high- strung girl.  My foster family describes me as medium energy.  I like to go for walks.  A fenced in yard is not a necessity for me.   I would do great as an apartment or townhome dweller as I am very quiet.  I am not a barker.  I would love to share your bed at night and help keep you warm on these cold winter days.  The Egyptians loved their dogs and treated them with great respect.  How about you?  Will you treat me like the Queen of Illinois?  I am sure deserving!  If I sound like the loyal partner you have been searching for, please call Teri at 630-897-7454. “ I will not be triumphed over”- Cleopatra.  The adoption fee for CLEO is $200.   http://youtu.be/DJyuDPS-sxE
