Trying to make heads or tails of health care, with its seemingly endless changes and complexity, is enough to make just about anyone queasy.

Against that backdrop, a retirement planning expert who speaks with clarity and authority is the perfect antidote. On Wednesday, January 22nd, Greg Kurinec of Bentron Financial Group leads an in-depth discussion on Health Care in Retirement at the Oak Brook Public Library, 600 Oakbrook Road.

In his free presentation, which begins at 7 p.m., Kurinec will provide detail of the four parts of Medicare: Parts A (Hospital Insurance), Part B (Medical Insurance), Part C (Medicare Advantage), and Part D (Prescription Drugs).

He will also share his knowledge of Medicare Supplements and the different plans that are available. In addition, students will receive an overview of long-term care insurance and the four strategies used to protect yourself from the high costs of long-term care.

To pre-register for the event, please call the library at 630-368-7725.

Kurinec began with Bentron, based in Naperville, in 2004. Its founder, Jim Flanagan, has been advising people at or near retirement age for more than 20 years. For the past 15 years his specialties have included counsel on how and when to tap into Social Security benefits. Bentron Financial Group is online at www.bentron.com, and can be reached at 630-505-8375.

In 2005, Flanagan joined the Oak Park/River Forest Township Senior Services Committee, for which he has served as chairman since 2008. In 2010, he founded the Celebrating Seniors Coalition, a not-for-profit organization that, among other services, helps seniors with emergency needs and raises public awareness of issues affecting seniors in Oak Park, River Forest and Forest Park.
