Community Corner

Charity sock drive starts Oct. 1

Bethel Lutheran Church of Westmont is teaming up with the community to bless homeless people and others in need with new socks, just in time to keep them warm when winter weather arrives.

The socks will be delivered to the People's Resource Center in Westmont and the Pillars domestic-violence and sexual abuse shelter.

Last fall, generous members of the Westmont, Downers Grove and Clarendon Hills communities donated more than 1,000 pairs of socks for men, women and children.
