BERNINA to Host Quilting & Fill Skills Retreat with Renae Allen at the Bernina Creative Center in Aurora Illinois Thursday April 3 and Friday April 4

BERNINA of America, the premier manufacturer of sewing, embroidery and quilting machines, is pleased to announce that it is accepting registration for the two-day Introduction to Quilting & Fill and Skills Retreat with Renae Allen.  The retreat will take place at the BERNINA Creative Center in Aurora, Ill. on Thursday, April 3 and Friday, April 4 from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.  The BERNINA Creative Center is located at 3682 Unit B Prairie Lake Court, next to the BERNINA of America headquarters.  The retreat costs $299 and includes class project supplies, use of BERNINA machines, and lunch.

The retreat will focus on how to build machine quilting confidence and introduce participants to the tools, skills knowledge and techniques needed to quilt using a home sewing machine.  Renae will show attendees how to take the fear out of quilting by following pre-printed lines on a Skill Builder practice panel, how to quilt free-hand designs on quilt sandwiches, and how to reach beyond stippling by learning to quilt attractive fill designs with skill, no markings required.  She will also teach participants how to use stress-free, printed Design Builder panels, free-motion quilting techniques and different designs to fill individual elements, blocks, sayings and borders.  For more information or to register for retreat, please visit:

The 4,500-square-foot BERNINA Creative Center opened in 2013 and consists of three rooms with enough space to hold up to 50 attendees and BERNINA machines.  Events at the Center are designed to help consumers and BERNINA Dealers advance their sewing, quilting and embroidering skills.
