AAUW has been empowering women as individuals and as a community since 1881. We work together as a national grassroots organization to improve the lives of millions of women and their families. Since our founding, AAUW members have examined and taken positions on the fundamental issues of the day — educational, social, economic, and political. The Hinsdale-Oak Brook branch has sponsored The Home Tour for 62 years; the monies raised support scholarships for local adult women returning to college and high school girls who are beginning their university educations.
