The Clarendon Hills Park District's Rainbow Club for active adults ages 50 and better will enjoy "A Salute to Route 66" on Thursday, June 21. This all day trip departs from the Community Center, 315 Chicago Avenue, at 8:30 a.m. and returns to the western suburbs by 6:30 p.m.. Rainbow Club travelers will spend the day with award winning Route 66 author John Weiss who will narrate the trip while sharing many interesting stories.
The adventure begins in Joliet and travels down to Braidwood and includes stops at historic sites, shopping in quaint towns and stops for a family style meal at the Old Route 66 Cafe. There are two snack stops included as well. Cost of this trip is $68.00 per person. Please wear comfortable shoes and bring along a camera. Registration is being accepted at the Clarendon Hills Park District Community Center, 315 Chicago Avenue, through June 21.
