Six-year-old Calvin Voorhees got to meet a hero of his on Sat., Oct. 2. He waited for about an hour in a line to get an autograph from Chicago Blackhawk Defenseman Brent Seabrook. The 25-year-old ice hockey player was signing autographs at a mall in Willowbrook. When asked what his favorite thing about the Blackhawks was, Calvin said, "That they won the Stanley Cup."
I was on my way back from covering the Hinsdale Silent Parade when I came across a group of Hinsdale Central High School students in Burlington Park, enjoying a 70-degree night.  They told me they called themselves the "park kids." I thought to myself, "What a great way to kick off the first 'Hinsdale's Moments' column. The teens didn't know about AOL's new local news source, so I told them about Patch, and they taught me a thing—or 10.
