Hinsdale residents have voted in favor of increasing the sales tax in Hinsdale from 7.25 percent to 8.25 percent. The increase in sales tax will go towards funding infrastructure improvements in the community. All of Hinsdale's 20 precincts in DuPage County and its two precincts in Suburban Cook County have reported their numbers. It was a close race Tuesday night for the Clarendon Hills Park District referendum. At the start of the night, votes were split 50-50 on whether to extend the current debt ceiling to pay for park district capital projects, or allow it to expire and reduce taxes in Clarendon Hills. But as results continued to come in, the measure gained the support of 55 percent of voters.
