The Hinsdale Middle School 8th Grade Girls Basketball team was recently recognized with an Ambassador of Excellence award from the Community Consolidated School District 181 Board of Education. The team not only captured the Conference Championship this season, but also finished with a perfect 13-0 record. In fact, the team has gone undefeated for the last two years. Coach and HMS teacher Dan Powers says he cannot remember a time in his 12-year career with the school that a team has had back-to-back undefeated seasons in any sport, boys or girls. “The best part of this team,” Powers says, “is that as talented as they are on the basketball court, they are even better people off the court.”
