Teen Found With Stolen GPS Devices, Employee's Wallet Goes Missing: Police Blotter

Wallet, Cash Stolen from Manor Care Employee
An unknown thief stole the cash-filled wallet of an employee of Manor Care Hinsdale, 600 W. Ogden Ave., between 4 a.m. and 7:30 a.m., a timeframe during which the employee was working.
Police say the wallet contained $545 and was located at the time of the theft in an area of the building where Manor Care employees keep their personal belongings. At this time, police have no suspects, and the case is pending investigation.
TUESDAY, SEPT. 18
Juvenile Caught With Stolen GPS, Alcohol
A 17-year-old male juvenile from Darien was charged with possession of stolen property and several other offenses after he was found to have two stolen GPS devices in his car during a traffic stop in the 5700 block of south Madison Street at 10:35 p.m., police said.
The juvenile was stopped after police found that his vehicle registration did not match the vehicle he was driving. Inside the car, police said, there was alcohol and two GPS devices that, upon investigation, were determined to be stolen. One of the devices had been reported stolen in Westmont on or around Aug. 18; the other went missing from a victim in Wheeling around Aug. 3. The juvenile was also found to be in possession of a driver’s license that was not his.
Police charged the juvenile with possession of stolen property, illegal possession of alcohol by a minor, unlawful use of driver’s license, unlawful display of registration, driving on a suspended license, and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was released to appear in court.

Prescription Pad Snagged
It was reported to police that an unknown person stole a prescription pad from Hinsdale Orthopaedic, 550 W. Ogden Ave., and unsuccessfully attempted to obtain medicine on Sept. 12 at a pharmacy outside of Hinsdale with a forged prescription.
Police said the pharmacy determined the prescription was forged before filling it, and no medicines were dispersed. The case is currently pending.
