Computer Equipment Stolen from Hinsdale School: Police Blotter

Hinsdale police reports, Jan. 1-7.

MONDAY, JAN. 7

Car Break-In Reported

Someone smashed the window of a car parked in the 900 block of North Elm Street between 10 p.m. Dec. 22 and 12:24 a.m. Dec. 23 and stole three bags from inside, police said.

Window repairs cost the victim $1,600, police said. There is no estimate on the value of the bags. The incident was reported on Jan. 7.

SATURDAY, JAN. 5

School Equipment Stolen

Someone stole one computer and two computer monitors from a classroom at Hinsdale Adventist Academy, 631 E. Hickory St., between 10 a.m. Jan. 2 and 6:21 p.m. Jan. 5, police said.

The combined value of the equipment is $700.

Deputy Chief Mark Wodka said no forced entry was made to the school or classroom, and the number of people with authorized access during the above timeframe was limited. However, he said, police have not determined if they believe the thief was someone with authorized access or someone who somehow gained access without authorization.

The case is under investigation.

Car Burglarized at Hospital

An employee of Hinsdale Adventist Hospital, 120 N. Oak St., reported that someone shattered a passenger-side window on his vehicle and went through the glove box while the vehicle was parked in the hospital’s garage between 11:15 p.m. and 11:59 p.m. Jan. 4, police said.

Nothing was reported stolen from the vehicle.
