Sunny, Hot Weather Expected: Friday's Morning Report

A Saturday Family Farm Fest and a Sunday scavenger hunt are also among the things you should know about on Aug. 3.

1. Skies will be mostly sunny Friday, the high temperature will reach 92 degrees, and heat index values will rise as high as 96 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Friday night, partly cloudy skies and a low of 75 degrees are expected.

2. This morning on Patch is this week's Clarendon Hills Police Department blotter recap, which features a theft from a motor vehicle and a very unofficial "security guard."

3. Looking ahead to Saturday, Church of the Holy Nativity in Clarendon Hills is putting on its Family Farm Fest at 10 a.m. to benefit Heifer International, which helps families in need become self-reliant by providing livestock and training. "The sixth annual fest features live animals, games, door prizes, food, crafts for kids, face painting, quilt raffle, farmer's market and more," the event's Patch listing reads.

4. On Sunday, Graue Mill in Oak Brook is hosting its Scavenger Hunt in the Mill at 10 a.m. "When you complete the course, you’ll learn a lot about the museum and win a prize!" the event's Patch listing reads. Participation costs $3.50.
