My dad has always said that summer vacation officially ends on the last non-holiday weekday before kids head back to school. Since we in Minnesota started the Tuesday after Labor Day, the last day of summer was the Friday before. 

"You'd get the other days off anyway," he says.

According to my dad's theory, Monday is the first day of summer for District 181 families, since school got out Friday and the weekend doesn't count.

Patch wants to know what's going on in Hinsdale and Clarendon Hills between now and Aug. 22, the last day of District 181 summer.

Where are you going to be this summer? The Hinsdale Community Pool Lions Park Pool? The Hinsdale Public Library? The Clarendon Hills Park District? Dips & Dogs? 

Is there a summer camp your kids go to? A sport that they play?

I want to know what summer traditions are special to residents, what classes are the best for their kids, and what places—in Hinsdale, Clarendon Hills, and elsewhere—are the best spots to hit during the vacation days. (Brookfield Zoo, anyone?)
