Stolen Car Found in Hinsdale, Phony Comcast Account Opened: Police Blotter

TUESDAY, JAN. 8

Park Shed Graffiti'd

Someone spray painted graffiti on a storage shed in Pierce Park between 12:01 a.m. Oct. 1 and 5:35 p.m. Jan. 7, police said. The cost of the damage was unknown at the time of the report.

SUNDAY, JAN. 6

Home Egged, Window Broken

Someone threw eggs at a home in the 100 block of South Oak Street and broke a side window between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. on Jan. 6, police said. An estimate of the damage was not available at the time of the report.

Fraudulent Comcast Account Opened

A known person opened a Comcast account using the information of a victim from the 600 block of South Madison Street between 12 p.m. July 22 and 2:50 p.m. Jan. 5, police said. The victim said he or she had received a bill worth $520. The case is currently pending.

SATURDAY, JAN. 5

Stolen Car Found in Hinsdale 

A silver Chevrolet that was reported stolen in Westmont on Jan. 4 was recovered, unoccupied, in a Hinsdale commuter lot at 1:33 a.m. Jan. 5, police said. Westmont Police took custody of the vehicle.

THURSDAY, JAN. 3

Vandalism by Chalk

A vandal used chalk to write on and damage two walls at ACU Health Center, 736 N. York Rd., at 10:13 p.m. Jan. 1, police said. The incident was reported on Jan. 3 and the cost of the damage was not available at that time.

TUESDAY, JAN. 1

Identity Theft Reported

Someone made $2,000 in unauthorized purchases with the credit card information of a resident from the 10 block of South Madison Street between 12 p.m. Nov. 1 and 12 p.m. Dec. 31, police said. 

SUNDAY, DEC. 30

Credit Card Fraud

Someone made a fraudulent charge using the credit card information of a resident from the 100 block of Fuller Road at 3:40 p.m. Dec. 30, police said.
