Retired NFL Players Visit Monroe School in Hinsdale

The six former pros, including former Chicago Bear John Janata, led running and passing drills last week.

The following is a release from Community Consolidated School District 181:

On Sept. 6, the third-, fourth- and fifth-graders of Monroe School were invited to participate in a “One Team-One Community” Fitness Clinic sponsored by the National Football League Players Association (NFLPA). Six retired players led activity stations that helped students hone their skills in running, passing and working as a team.

Players included: Alfred “Jitter” Fields (Chiefs, Saints), John Janata (Bears, Buccaneers), James Loving (Eagles), Anthony Parker (49ers, Raiders), Tim Tyrrell (Falcons, Rams, Bills, Steelers), and Nolan Harrison (Raiders, Steelers, Redskins).

Monroe P.E. teachers Judy Tiggelaar and Lori Andreoni and Principal Dawn Benaitis worked with the NFLPA to schedule the visit.
