PTO Kicks off Holiday Break for Hinsdale Central Staff

The school's Community Room was transformed into a winter wonderland for the annual holiday breakfast.

While Hinsdale Central students were itching to be dismissed for winter break, the school's faculty and staff welcomed the holiday season today with the annual Holiday Breakfast, planned by the school's Parent Teacher Organization.

More than 350 teachers and other staff members attended the breakfast Thursday morning, in the Hinsdale Central Community Room. The space was transformed by PTO members into a winter wonderland, featuring centerpieces by Phillip's Flowers and greenery donated by Premier Landscaping.

Treats and desserts were baked by PTO members, and the centerpiece of the dessert table was a three-tiered cake made by Hinsdale Central students Olivia & Claudia Beard.

Tina Anderson, who has worked on the PTO Holiday Breakfast for six years and was this year's committee chair, was happy with the turnout at the event. "The Holiday Breakfast is my favorite volunteer job," she said. "It's a lovely way to kick off the holidays."

The Holiday Breakfast has been a Hinsdale Central tradition for more than 40 years. In addition to the food and decorations, attendees were treated to entertainment by the Hinsdale Central Orchestra and the school's Madrigal singers.

Tina and Helpers:
So proud to be a part of such a great team-teachers, staff and parents. Lovely way to feel a part of the spirit of giving. Thanks to Tina Anderson for her leadership and diligence. She does NOT put out an inferior display on the tables! We do our best, always. We appreciate your love for the teachers and your care for the event. We have big shoes to fill!
