Party-Bus Driver Charged with DUI After Found Sleeping

Gregory L. Nixon, 51, of the 3300 block of Church Street, Evanston was charged with DUI after police found him lying on the floor of the Masters Transportation bus he was scheduled to drive. He failed ensuing field sobriety tests.

Police say Nixon was supposed to drive a party from Clarendon Hills into Chicago Saturday. When the party reported he was late, the bus company began looking for Nixon. His bus was found in the Notre Dame parking lot in the 60 block of Norfolk Avenue and he was found on the floor inside.

Responding police officers observed Nixon to be under the influence of alcohol. He refused a breath test, was charged with one count of DUI, and was released on bond to appear in court.
