Clarendon Hills police reports, July 19-24
TUESDAY, JULY 24
It was reported at 12:40 p.m. that unknown persons used spray paint to graffiti the east-side exterior wall of a building in the 400 block of Ogden Avenue. The graffiti was made up of both word and symbols.
MONDAY, JULY 23
Benjamin Andrews, 20, of the 500 block of Childs Street, Wheaton, was charged with driving on a suspended license after he was pulled over by police following a random registration check in the 100 block of Burlington Avenue at 5:46 p.m.
SUNDAY, JULY 22
Driver Charged with Pot Possession
Alexander Wiersema, 23, of 100 Quincy Street, Westmont, was charged with possession of less than 30 grams of cannabis after officers stopped him for failing to stop at a stop sign near the intersection fo Park and Walker at 1:13 p.m.
Police said they recognized the smell of marijuana coming from his vehicle and found the substance on Wiersema.
He was charged with possession and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was released to appear in court, and his car was impounded.
Witness Reports Road Rage
A witness reported at 3:51 p.m. seeing a driver of a silver Kia minivan throw an object at another vehicle on southbound Route 83 near Ogden Avenue. The witness followed the minivan to the Jewel at 303 Holmes Ave. and called police from there.
By the time officers arrived, the vehicle in question had left.
