Police Blotter: $5,000 Hospital Radio, $1,100 in Golf Equipment Stolen
Hinsdale police reports, June 5-12
TUESDAY, JUNE 12
Golf Bag, Clubs Stolen
A resident from the 700 block of South Bodin Street reported that an unknown burglar entered his unlocked vehicle between 6:30 p.m. June 11 and 4:45 a.m. June 12 and stole a golf bag and golf clubs worth a combined $1,130.
The vehicle was parked in the driveway at the time.
MONDAY, JUNE 11
CD Case Taken from Unlocked Vehicle
A resident reported that an unknown burglar entered his unlocked vehicle while it was parked in a driveway in the 500 block of County Line Court and stole a CD case containing 20 CDs some time between 4 p.m. June 9 and 4 p.m. June 10.
The case and CDs inside is valued at $200.
FRIDAY, JUNE 8
Pricey Radio Stolen from Hospital
An Adventist Hinsdale Hospital employee reported that a $5,000 emergency radio was taken from a locked conference room at the hospital some time between 8 a.m. March 15 and 5 p.m. May 18.
Deputy Chief Kevin Simpson said the case is under investigation.
THURSDAY, JUNE 7
Cell Phone, Credit Cards Taken
A $300 cell phone and two credit cards were reported taken from a car parked in the underground parking garage at 1401 Burr Oak Rd. between 2:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. on May 3.
The credit cards were thereafter used to make eight purchases. The total amount charged was not known at the time of the report. There are no suspects.
Failed Identity Theft
The credit card information of a resident from the 200 block of East 1st Street was used to an attempt to make a $1,380.51 purchase at 5 p.m.
The resident was able to contact her bank and cancel the transaction before the purchased item was shipped. The offender had tried to have it sent to a California address.
