Credit Card Info Used Illegally

A resident from the 5700 block of Concord Lane reported that someone used the resident's credit card to make five unauthorized online purchases worth a combined $200, police said.

Fish Tank Trouble

A man from the 200 block of Coe Road reported at 9:34 p.m. that after an argument with his girlfriend earlier in the night, the girlfriend allegedly dumped Oxi Clean in the complainant's fish tank as she left his home, an accusation police said she denied.

The complainant reported that the two broke up during a cell phone call that night. No charges were filed.

Internet Scammer Gets Access to Computers

A resident from the 100 block of Woodstock Avenue reported at 9:21 a.m. that she believed she had fallen victim to an Internet scammer who she had granted total access to her home's computer devices after the suspect said he or she could help resolve an email problem the resident was experiencing, police said.

The resident had contacted the alleged scammer after he or she was listed online as someone who could assist in addressing a problem with Yahoo email accounts. No money loss was suffered, police said, but the resident has had to flag all credit and bank accounts, and change online usernames and passwords. 

Hit and Run Reported

Police said a driver backing out of a parking spot in the Country House lot at 12:16 a.m. hit another parked car, causing minor damage, and left the lot without realizing what happened. A witness saw the incident and provided vehicle info to police, who tracked down the driver but did not file any charges.
