Steel Pipe Stolen Again

A $250 piece of steel pipe was stolen from the 55th Street construction site near Clarendon Hills Road during the overnight hours of Sept. 11-12.

It was the second report of steel pipe being stolen from the site. See the first one here. 

Obama Sign Taken

A resident from the 0-10 block of McIntosh Avenue reported at 11:22 a.m. that the pro-Obama political sign in the home's yard was stolen.

The sign had been vandalized three different times before this incident, police said.

TUESDAY, SEPT. 11

Man Charged with Disorderly Conduct

Kevin A. Cawley, 39, of the 200 block of Oxford Avenue, Clarendon Hills, was charged with disorderly conduct, police said. Officers responded to a report from one of Cawley's neighbors that the man was yelling loudly from his apartment balcony.

Welcome Home

A man from the 200 block of north Richmond Avenue told police at 7:39 p.m. that he came home to find eight empty beer bottles on his floor and his toilet defecated in. It was the second straight week the man had made such a report.

Police say that apartment had been locked and there was no sign of forced entry. They advised him and his landlord to change the apartment's locks.

MONDAY, SEPT. 10

Vodka Bottle Versus Window

Someone threw a Skyy Vodka bottle through the rear window of a car parked in a driveway in the 400 block of Colfax Avenue during the overnight hours of Sept. 9-10.

SUNDAY, SEPT. 9

Lawnmower Taken

A resident from the 20 block of Iroquois Drive reported at 3:26 p.m. that his lawnmower, which he left in the driveway for 15 minutes that afternoon, was stolen.

Police said that because it was Sunday afternoon, it's possible that the lawnmower was taken by a refuse collector.

SATURDAY, SEPT. 8

TP Revenge

A resident from the 300 block of Western Avenue reported at 8:30 p.m. that a woman was toilet-papering the caller's neighbor. Police say the 41-year-old woman doing the toilet-papering told police that she had herself been TP'd by the homeowner the week before.

The homeowner who was getting TP'd told police everything was OK.
