Monday's Morning Report: District 86 Board Meets
Get your week started right with these important items from Patch.
1. The Hinsdale Township High School District 86 school board meets Monday night at Hinsdale Central. The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. and its agenda can be found here. Also Monday night, the Clarendon Hills Village Board meets at Village Hall.
2. Skies will be mostly cloudy during the day Monday and the high temperature will reach 48 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Monday night, the same cloudy skies will stick around and the low temperature will dip to 41 degrees.
3. The Community House in Hinsdale is taking kids ages 10 to 16 on a trip to downtown Chicago Monday morning to shop on Michigan Avenue. The trip costs $18 for members and participants will leave at 10 a.m. See the event's Patch listing here for more info.

5. Monday in Hinsdale Central Red Devils sports: Boys Bowling vs. Morton at Suburbanite Bowl, 4:30 p.m.; Boys Freshman Basketball vs. West Chicago at West Chicago Frosh Tourney, 5 p.m.; Girls Basketball at Hinsdale South, 7:30 p.m.

Why is the District 86 board thankful this season? It brims with gratitude because a 2012 property tax HIKE of 2.8% is pending and you are not paying attention!

You're wrong. 2.8% that is just what they are asking for, but they will get 1.5% CPI. Taxing bodies can ask for the moon, but they will only receive what they are entitled.
