SUNDAY, OCT. 14
Man Swings at Officer
Thomas C. Bouton, 32, of the 600 block of Hillside Drive, Hinsdale, was charged with DUI and battery, police said. He appeared to be under the influence of alcohol during a speeding stop near 55th and Garfield streets at 2:16 a.m. but refused a breath test, police said.
Deputy Chief Mark Wodka said Bouton made “assaultive statements” toward the officer booking him at the police station, and then attempted to strike him. After he was restrained, Bouton grabbed the hand of the officer—contact police said they considered to be “of a provoking nature.” The officer was not injured.
Bouton was charged with DUI, battery, speeding and improper lane use. He was released to appear in court.
