Two Men Charged After Fight, One Hospitalized: Police Blotter

WEDNESDAY, NOV. 14
Woman Caught Planning to Steal from Jewel
A woman admitted to police she planned on stealing $2,600 worth of items from Jewel-Osco, 303 Holmes Avenue, that she had collected in a cart while at the grocery store.
Employees of the store became suspicious of the shopper, whose cart was filled with items like teeth whiteners and allergy medications from the pharmacy section of the store, and alerted police, who confronted her. She was not charged.
UPS Package Reported Stolen
A resident from the 400 block of Traube Avenue reported to police at 3:27 p.m. that a UPS package containing an $85 sweater was never received despite being delivered, according to UPS, on Oct. 25.
Several similar incidents where UPS packages appear to have been stolen after delivery have been reported in Clarendon Hills in recent weeks. They were reported in Patch's Nov. 9, Nov. 2 and Oct. 26 Clarendon Hills police blotters.
SATURDAY, NOV. 10
Two Friends Charged After Fight
Matthew Holt, 28, of the 300 block of 4th Street, Charleston, IL, and Bryce True, 36, of the 5500 block of King Arthur Court, Westmont, were charged with disorderly conduct after the two had a fistfight in the 5700 block of Concord Lane at 3:08 a.m. that resulted in the hospitalization of Holt, police said.
Police said the fight occurred after one of the men was pulled over after being suspected of DUI. He was not charged with DUI, but the two men had an argument afterward. One of the two men's girlfriends reported the fight to police.
FRIDAY, NOV. 9
Wet Cement: Hard to Pass By
A complainant reported at 7:09 a.m. that several juveniles wrote their names in the wet cement in front of a new home in the 100 block of south Prospect Avenue. A parent of the juveniles was made aware and said he or she would pay for the repairs.
