Letter: Vote for Nybo is 'Vote for Change'
Chris Nybo can tackle hard issues and move Illinois away from its current unsustainable path.
For too long, politicians in Springfield have ignored fiscal realities and taken Illinois to the brink of financial ruin. Anything positive that has been accomplished pales in comparison to the financial neglect of our state. Politicians have focused on playing the game and protecting their turf, rather than serving Illinois and its citizens. Kirk Dillard has been in the Illinois Senate for nearly 20 years. Illinois needs a change, and as voters, we can make change happen.
Chris Nybo is a hardworking parent who cares about his family and his state, as are I and many others. I met Chris after he rang my doorbell going to door-to-door to meet the voters. I believe he is a person who can tackle hard issues and take on the establishment to move Illinois forward and away from our current unsustainable path. I plan to vote for change.

Kirk Dillard has done an excellent job representing us in Springfield. While Nybo may be a decent guy, he lacks the experience, and more importantly, his allegiance lies with Lombard, Villa Park and Elmhurst, his current district. Kirk Dillard was born and raised in Hinsdale and has served us well. Maybe that's why virtually every newspaper and local official has endorsed Kirk Dillard.

Kirk Dillard is a carreer politician, Mr. Nybo is a concerned citizen eager to work towards Illinois political reform. Mr. Nybo supports term limits, which means that lifers like Dillard would nt be around for 20 yrs. while the state is reduced to fiscal destruction

Dear Jim,
Elmhurst and Lombard are part of the newly drawn 24th District. Most of the district is in the area Chris serves currently. Villa Park, which is a wonderful community, has unfortunately drawn out of this district. Elmhurst is connected to Lombard through Downers Grove. It's quite a gerrymandered mess. If you speak to people in areas where Chris currently serves, you would find he's remarkably well liked and admired for his intelligence, ethics and hard work. Hinsdale, Clarendon Hills, W. Springs and Westmont will be well served by this very hard working and outstanding public servant. He serves small portions of most of these communities now. He'd be an excellent voice in Springfield along with Patti Bellock, whose Hinsdale roots would ensure that your community is well represented.

I am from Elmhurst where Nybo is not well-liked nor has he accomplished much if anything beyond running away from key votes and running for continually higher office - the reason -, read the Chicago Tribune endorsements. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/opinion/editorials/ct-edit-senate1-20120304,0,1879924.story

Patti Bellock has endorsed Kirk Dillard. Even while NOT representing Elmhurst, Dillard has worked to get Elmhurst Quarry for flood abatement, funds that improved York High Schools, the Metra parking garage in Elmhurst, development funds for Lombard including Butterfield Road improvements and any number of other changes. Elmhurst, Lombard and Glen Ellyn have ALREADY been well represented by Dillard, and can only benefit further by his continued representation.

You know what makes this statement positively inane Frank? I passed tens of thousands of pieces of literature for then Senator Dan Cronin with exactly the same accomplishments on it. Quarry Flood Abatement, York HS, Metra parking garage downtown, Butterfield Road widening (very little of which was done in Lombard Frank, mostly Oak Brook and OBT). I walked all over the 21st Senate District promoting Senator Cronin's work on all of these initiatives. Was there nothing going on in Hinsdale, Downers or Woodridge that the Senator in the next district over was free to only work on things in Dan's district? I did see Kirk take credit for Belmont Road in Downers Grove too back then. This is utter hogwash. It's very Al Gore-ish, this whole taking credit for everything. I do remember a very devastating flood in Elmhurst. I do remember a Junior High Auditorium full of very justifiably upset people in Elmhurst. I remember the Mayor and City Council, including Chris Nybo being there to answer to the neighbors. I remember Jeff Redick explaining the issues with the quarry there. I don't remember Kirk Dillard there. He didn't really belong there, but with all of his outstanding work in Elmhurst, even on the downtown parking, it's hard to imagine he would miss this cataclysmic event. Actually, you're spewing more untruths. I still have the Cronin walk pieces extolling his work on these initiatives. And he did work on them. Nice try here. Elmhurst had a Senator working on this.

It speaks volumes that Dan Cronin has put his support behind Kirk Dillard...especially when the likes of Fitzpatrick did so much for Cronin in the past and thought that Nybo was their new ticket to their continued dipping into the political cookie jar. Oh the lessons one learns....

Actually it doesn't speak volumes icky guy. Why don't you confirm your dopey theory with Dan Cronin and see if he spends even a second taking a person like you seriously. I am challenging you to do this. I think he'll set you straight in a hurry. Go ahead.

There's Kevin defending his man again.....bet that keeps the wife happy seeing she pulls a regular paycheck from the state and occasional pay from his campaign coffers. Now that is icky.....

You betcha I'm defending my guy. He's one of the most remarkable guys I've ever known in politics. Illinois is better with him!

If I'm not mistaken in the last presidential election, Republican Dillard endorsed Barack Obama instead of the party's candidates. If that was correct, then I don't understand why Mr. Dillard still wants to run as a Republican in the primary?

It's a free country and people can vote for any candiate regardless of party. You have the same option.
