Hinsdale Ranked Among 'Most Fashionable Towns in America'
A study by Bundle concluded that more than 11 percent of Hinsdale residents have made at least four high-end clothing purchases over the last 30 months.
The Bundle study, which was first done with major American cities like Chicago and New York, pitted small towns across the country against one another based on the number of households who made "at least four transactions at top-end designer merchants over the past 30 months."
According to the study, 11.29 percent of Hinsdale households fell into that "fashion-conscious" category. Newport Coast, Calif., topped the rankings with 16.15 percent.
Bundle's study said 1.5 percent of households nationwide are "fashion-conscious."
Glencoe (15.95 percent), Winnetka (13.74 percent), and Highland Park (11.84 percent) are all Illinois towns that ranked ahead of Hinsdale. Lake Forest was just behind at 10.7 percent.
Deerfield, Oak Brook, Wilmette and River Forest also made the top 50.
Hinsdale was ranked ahead of well-known towns like Greenwich, Ct. (9.16 percent); Laguna Beach, Calif. (8.62 percent); and Malibu, Calif. (6.75 percent).
In the big-city rankings, Chicago came in at No. 6: 2.42 percent of its households are "fashion-conscious." Irvine, Calif., New York and Los Angeles were the top three most fashionable cities.
