2nd Lunch on the Lawn Event Set: Wednesday's Morning Report

Sunny weather and The Community House's Whirlyball field trip are also among the things you should know for July 11.

1. The Village of Hinsdale Parks and Recreation Department and the Hinsdale Public Library are hosting the second Lunch on the Lawn event Wednesday at Burlington Park. The Frisbee-retrieving Disc Dogs will be the featured act this week. The event begins at 12:30 p.m. "Bring your picnic blanket, pack a lunch and see a performance you won’t want to miss!" the event's Patch listing reads.

2. Skies will be sunny Wednesday and the high will approach 90 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Wednesday night, mostly clear skies and a low of 68 are expected.

    3. It's Dancin' in the Street Wednesday in Clarendon Hills. This week's performance will be by South of Disorder, a Jimmy Buffett tribute, and the food will be supplied by Uncle Bub's. Festivities begin at 6:30 p.m.

    4. The Community House is taking kids ages 11 to 16 on a field trip to Whirlyball in Lombard on Wednesday at 11 a.m. "Whirlyball is a team sport that combines elements of basketball and lacrosse with the players riding Whirlybugs, small electric vehicles similar to bumper cars," the event's Patch listing reads. "This game is becoming a phenomenon and we want you to experience it first-hand." See the listing for more info.

    5. This morning on Patch is a news item regarding the armed robbery Tuesday of a downtown Hinsdale business. An arrest was made and charges have been filed against a Chicago 20-year-old.
