Flute Stolen from Middle School Student, Cash Taken by Repairmen: Police Blotter

Missing flute
A Hinsdale Middle School student reported that her flute was stolen sometime between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the school. She last saw her flute, valued at $800, after band practice.
THURSDAY, NOV. 29
Missing cash
A resident of the 400 block of North Madison Street told police she was missing an envelope containing $500 in cash. She told police she believes the cash was taken by workers doing home repair work at her residence during November.
FRIDAY, NOV. 30
Illegal tobacco sale
While conducting a routine tobacco compliance check at the Shell Food Mart, 210 E. Ogden Ave., Hinsdale Police officers reported they saw a store employee selling tobacco to a minor without checking identification. John Ralph, 21, of Bolingbrook, was cited with unlawful sale of tobacco to a minor and released on a promise to appear in court.
TUESDAY, DEC. 4
Missing GPS unit
A resident of the 500 block of North County Line Road reported that a GPS unit, valued at $150, had been taken from an unlocked vehicle parked in the driveway. The resident reported the burglary occurred sometime between 9 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3 and 7 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4.
