Community members have donated several thousand dollars worth of items and monetary contributions to both District 86 high schools. The school board approved acceptance of the donations at its regular meeting Monday night.

To Hinsdale Central:

Several donations were made to the school's music department, totalling $6,420.

Katie Longtin of Hinsdale donated a drum set to the music department valued at $1,000.

The John Maras Family donated a telescope to the science department valued at $150.

To Hinsdale South:

Robert and Kim Hogan and the Illinois Tool Works Foundation donated $1,000.

A family stepped forward to donate a bass fishing field trip for students, which will take place in Quincy, Illinois on May 25 - 27.
