The following is a release from District 181:

Clarendon Hills Middle School graduated 222 eighth graders on Wednesday, June 6 during a 5 p.m. ceremony in the Hinsdale Central High School gym.

The program included speeches by graduating eighth graders Katie Rodgers and Jim Walker, and the Pledge of Allegiance led by Samantha Camden, Barbara Heidkamp, Abby Hess and Rina Ravisunder.

The program also contained a performance by the Eighth Grade Graduation Chorus, directed by Jerra Haggar.

American Legion representative George Herrmann presented the Good Citizenship Award to Brian Dvorak and Maggie Schwarz.

Mita Ramani earned the Walter A. Kistenfeger, Jr. Humanitarian Award.

Recipients of the Student of the Month Award and the Rotary Club of Hinsdale Youth Merit Award were recognized in the program. Students of the Month were:

Several administrators and special guests recognized the graduates and presented diplomas. They included Principal Griffin Sonntag, Board President Michael Nelson and Superintendent Renée Schuster.

The Clarendon Hills Bank donated the graduation certificates and jackets.
