MONDAY, DEC. 17
Woman Charged with DUI After Crash
Kimberly S. Burns, 34, of the 3200 block of Grand Boulevard, Brookfield, was charged with two counts of DUI, police said. Officers said she appeared to be under the influence of alcohol when they arrived at the scene of a property-damage-only crash involving Burns in the 300 block of East Walnut Street at 7:19 p.m. She failed an ensuing breath test, police said.
Burns, who police said failed to yield while exiting Adventist Hinsdale Hospital, was also charged with failure to yield and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. She was released to appear in court.
SUNDAY, DEC. 16
Bathroom Trashed
A $2,000 sink in a Hinsdale Central boys bathroom was pulled from the wall between 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., a timeframe during which a wrestling event was going on at the school, police said.
Toilet paper was also thrown around the bathroom. The sink needs to be replaced, police said.
SATURDAY, DEC. 15
Cut the Cord
Someone cut the cord for Christmas lights hung on a tree outside a home in the 900 block of South Grant Street between 11 a.m. and 8:50 p.m., police said.
THURSDAY, DEC. 13
Phone Harrassment Reported
A resident from the 400 block of South Quincy Street reported to police that someone called the resident and hung up 20 times between Dec. 7 and Dec. 13. Police said the resident also received a package that was addressed to him but that he did not order.
