The village of Hinsdale has named Timothy Scott as the new Director of Economic Development. Scott joined the village of Hinsdale five years ago as the Community Development Strategist.

"This promotion illustrates the confidence that the village board and I have in Tim's work to continue to further economic development in Hinsdale and to revitalize the central business district," said Village Manager David Cook.

Scott is responsible for overseeing the village's economic development efforts, including marketing and promotional programs. He promotes current village businesses, while also recruiting new businesses to the village. Scott also serves as the village's liaison to the Economic Development Commission and Hinsdale's Chamber of Commerce.

Scott has more than 15 years experience in both the private and public sectors. He has a bachelors degree from the University of Illinois Chicago, a Masters of Business Adminstration from DePaul University and a Masters of Urban Planning and Policy from the University of Illinois Chicago.
