Elida Coseri, of Des Plaines, has joined Ginny Richardson Public Relations (GR-PR), a boutique public relations firm based in Hinsdale. Her position within GR-PR is junior public relations coordinator. Her tasks include writing and distributing press releases, maintenance of clientele’s presence within social media, and administrative duties of Free Speech, the firm’s speakers bureau.
“Elida’s many public relations skills will add a great deal to the company,” said Ginny Richardson, president of GR-PR. “We are delighted to be working with her.”
In May 2010 Coseri received her B.A. in Magazine Journalism from Columbia College Chicago. She is also a 2005 graduate of Loyola Academy.
While studying at Columbia she spent a semester as a staff writer and section editor for Echo Magazine, the school’s biannual publication. She also participated in a three-month investigation of the Illinois General Assembly Scholarship Program as part of an invitation-only Honors Seminar. Her work, along with her peers, resulted in a nationally syndicated series of articles which garnered recognition from organizations such as the Society of Professional Journalists. In addition, she has had numerous stories, ranging from topics of post-traumatic stress disorder to profiling a founder of a nonprofit animal shelter, published on news sites such as Chicago Talks.
After graduation Coseri did some freelance journalism for Des Plaines Patch.com where she focused on family-oriented and budget friendly beats.
Coseri plans to attend DePaul University for the Masters in Public Relations and Advertising graduate program.
