Downers Grove Township Appoints New Trustee

  • June 12, 2012

Hinsdale resident and Republican Precinct Committeeman Mark D. Cuthbert has been appointed to the Downers Grove Township Board of Trustees effective immediately.

Cuthbert, 31, is replacing long-time trustee, Rita Carlson, of Hinsdale.

Selected out of 15 candidates, Cuthbert has served
as a Republican Precinct Committeeman in Hinsdale for four years where he lives with his wife, Christie, 30, and his son, John, 2.

“I was honored to be among the 15 candidates the
board considered for the position,” Cuthbert said. “I don’t envy them for having to make this tough decision. I am looking forward to representing my friends and neighbors and ensuring their voices are heard."

Cuthbert's educational background includes degrees in physics and math from University of Chicago, a degree in meteorology from the Naval Postgraduate School and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Professionally, Cuthbert is a management consultant
in Chicago. He is also a veteran, serving in Iraq with the U.S. Air Force attached to the Army's 101st Airborne Division.

Cuthbert is a parishioner at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic
Church and enjoys being involved in numerous community events.

Downers Grove Township includes the following
communities: Hinsdale, Clarendon Hills, Burr Ridge, Oak Brook, Downers Grove,
Darien, Bolingbrook, Westmont, Willow Springs, Woodridge, Lemont and
Willowbrook.
