Char Crews’ director Peggy Bitsas smiled when she saw Carol Wallace come through the store door on Friday afternoon. “We’ve already had calls looking for Home Tour tickets!”The AAUW 61st annual Scholarship Home Tour is September 30.  Featuring five fabulous homes in Hinsdale, the tour offers an up-close and inside look at architecture, design, and decorating, as well as a during-tour reception at The Community House and an after-tour reception at Normandy Remodeling.Proceeds from the annual home tour support the AAUW Educational Foundation and the Hinsdale/Oak Brook area local Scholarship Fund, which raises money for scholarships and grants that are awarded each spring to selected outstanding women.  The recipients are women graduating from Hinsdale Central and Hinsdale South High Schools, and women from the Hinsdale/Oak Brook/Burr Ridge/Willowbrook areas who are returning to college to complete their educations or earn advanced degrees.Tickets are available by phoning  630.789.6173 and at Char Crews, Yankee Peddler, Hinsdale Wine Shop, Normandy Remodeling, and The Hinsdale Community House in Hinsdale. Other locations include brandys & bourg (Burr Ridge),  O’Hara True Value Home and Hardware (Darien), Horton’s Lighting (LaGrange) ,  Clever Girl (Western Springs),  Ashley’s Custom Stationery and Linly Designs (Clarendon Hills).  Tickets are $35 through September 28,  $40 day of tour, and $30 for groups of 6 or more.
